Grow Our Own-Mentorship Program
Leader: Martha Ochoa, and Children's Ministry teachers

"Grow Our Own" Internship Program

Hannah Nicole Lizarraga, our first student to be working with the  "Grow Our Own" Program.

She will be working with the Toddler - Preschool teachers

Mentoring our young students as they begin to express a desire to serve in a ministry is part of the vision of Living Hope Church.  We have Middle School girls and boys who are interested in helping in the classroom with teachers during Sunday School.  After 6 to 9 months of following the class routines, watching and assisting the teachers during their lessons and helping to serve snacks, our young "shadow students"  are ready to use their talent, gift, and knowledge to do the same.  They are then given a "small part" of the class lesson to present and share with the group of children while under the supervision of the teacher.  They continue to take various parts of the weekly lesson until they gain confidence in all areas.

All internships will be observed periodically during the  year by our director, and the student will receive  feedback from that  session. We intend for each student to intern for one year so that they can be fully equipped to handle situations in the classroom.  They are included in all teacher meetings and functions.

Note:  Students will never be in a classroom of their peer group.  All shadowing students will begin in the younger age groups.

These internships will become increasingly fuller and the student will be given more responsibility as they gain their experience.  Our vision  is to help each student find their place in the body of Christ, lead them to a personal walk with Jesus Christ, and learn to give to others in the process.  We want our students to be equipped to follow their God given path.

Requirements for Internships are:

Parents must be in agreement and aware of their child's desire.

Student must be in the 6th grade or higher.

Student should maintain C grade and above in all classes at school.

Student must be attending and involved in the B.I.G. group class for Middle and High School on a weekly basis.

Students must attend Sunday worship service on a regular basis and have a desire for continued spiritual growth.
