We had a wonderful Mother’s Day service as we blessed the Lord and honored all of the amazing Mother’s in our church.  Following praise and worship, Minister Donald “Chico” Eddens delivered the Word of the Lord.  And to follow up, the men of LHC honored all of the Mother’s by preparing an Italian dinner for them.  Prizes were given to the Grandmother with the most grandchildren, the runner up Grandmother with an honorable mention, and the Youngest Mother as well (Winners are listed below photo gallery)!

S.O.W.E.R.S. is an acronym for “Standing on the wall eagerly waiting to serve”. The men of LHC got together again this morning for some great hardy breakfast and fantastic manly fellowship. The weather is beautiful so we were able to have breakfast outside at Cindy’s Café in Mesa. These Men’s breakfasts are quickly becoming our favorite events atthe church. We had a really good size group which was really great to see.

After a nice plate of AMAZING french toast and coffee, we discussed strengthening our homes and what it means to be a watchman who stands on the wall watching and protecting his home. God has called us to be the strength and guides of our family and knowing that this is our purpose is the most important thing for our families.

If you missed our breakfast today we hope to see you at our next gathering!

This past Sunday the Ladies Ministry cooked up a storm and served up a mighty dish of yummy goodness! It’s always nice when the church can stay after together and have some good fellowship. Getting to know each other and connecting with our guest is so important.

Mothers have such an enormous impact on our lives. They can have an even greater impact on us spiritually as well. We were so blessed to have our Pastors Mother, Sis. Ochoa, visit with us this past Sunday. She growing up with a Pastor for a father, she and her late husband have help build a heritage of the Lord with all of her children serving the Lord in some way and growing number of Godly grandchildren and great grandchildren. We appreciate her so much as we do all of the Godly saints that came before us who have been running a good race for many years. iPaz de Cristo a todos!  Where at Living Hope Church we are blessed to have both an English and a Spanish congregation.  We might speak two different languages but it’s the same God that we all serve.  Every quarter we have a joint bilingual service.  Both the worship songs and the sermon are delivered in Spanish & English.

Our speaker for this service is our very own, Victor Mireles, the Pastor of our Spanish Ministry.  He delivered a great message entitled, “But whom do you say that I am”, speaking about the most important question that we could ever answer which is, ” Who do you say that Jesus is?”.

This past Saturday some members of DYU (Destination Youth University) got together at the church at 8:00am for an hour of prayer follow up by a cereal breakfast together.  This is a little tradition that DYU likes to call, “Cereal Saturday”.  
There is nothing better than to start your day off with talking to the One who is all knowing and loves you unconditionally.  We always have a really great time and the cereal is always unlimited so  if you missed this gathering, be sure to attend our next one coming up in the next few months.

The men of LHC got together Saturday morning for a good hardy breakfast and some great fellowship. The conversation started out with sports and the latest tech gadgets but ended in the one place that connects all of us, our faith.

There is something to be said about getting together with other men of faith that strengthens us all as a whole. Weve had these gathering a number of times and I always leave them so encouraged. This time was a little different though. At the end of the breakfast we all went to the movie theater to watch the movie, Courageous.

Courageous is a movie that was made by the same church that produced Fireproof and Facing the Giants. Let me say that this was one of the most moving movies that Ive seen in some time. As a Father and as a man, this is definitely one to see!

In a time when there are so many men absent in the home, this movie could not be more timely. Ive even heard of women saying that they walked away from this movie with a deeper understanding of the responsibilities that men carry.

So I give that Saturday two thumbs up. A thumb up for the breakfast and another for the great movie! We also invite you to keep am eye out for our mens events. All men are welcome to join us!
